History of Willaert Boomkwekerij

History

The founder

A passion for plants …

In 1964 Noël Willaert started a modest vegetable farm in the Zilverbergstraat in Roeselare. He soon focused on growing plants. In the early 1980s, Noël Willaert switched permanently to professional arboriculture. By establishing a commercial nursery with Cash & Carry, he set up a completely new concept. And this is only aimed at professional tree nurseries.

In October 2010 boomkwekerij Willaert suddenly had to say goodbye to its founder. Mr. Willaert has unfortunately passed away while practicing his hobby, driving horses. As a passionate man, he managed to inspire his people. It is also thanks to him that his daughter and son-in-law, Els Willaert and Rudy Vannevel, together with their team, can further expand his life's work.
